How does Hearford verify therapists?
1. Qualification check
Every profile on Hearford is a member of a register recognised by the Professional Standards Authority. These registers define a minimum standard of qualification and training hours, as verified by the PSA, which ensures therapists meet a sufficiently high standard of personal behaviour and technical competence.
- ACC - Association of Christians in Counselling and Linked Professions
- BACP - British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy
- BPC - British Psychoanalytic Council
- HGI - Human Givens Institute
- NCPS - National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society
- UKCP - UK Council for Psychotherapy
Better still, some practitioners are Clinical Psychologists or Counselling Psychologists. These are doctoral qualifications, and typically require 7–8 years of study and training.
2. Personally vetted
We speak with every therapist that joins Hearford before their profile is set up, so that we feel confident about them being included.
